Advancing Cancer Research Through Inorganic Chemistry
Associate Professor specializing in anticancer platinum and gold complexes, with 25 years of teaching and research excellence.

About Me
With 25 years of dedicated experience in inorganic chemistry and material science, I have established a research program focused on developing innovative anticancer drugs based on platinum and gold complexes. My work combines classical synthesis techniques with modern characterization methods to investigate toxicity, cytotoxicity, absorption, luminescence, and magnetic properties of novel compounds.
As an Associate Professor at Bowie State University's Department of Natural Sciences, I lead a dynamic research group and have supervised numerous Master's and doctoral students. My passion lies in creating chemistry-based solutions to cancer treatment challenges while fostering the next generation of scientific leaders.
Research Focus
Our lab develops novel platinum and gold complexes for cancer treatment, combining synthesis, characterization, and biological evaluation to create safer therapeutic alternatives.
Anticancer Drug Development
Synthesis and characterization of platinum and gold metal complexes targeting cancer treatment without chemotherapy drawbacks.
Molecular Characterization
Investigation of chemical properties including toxicity, cytotoxicity, luminescence, and magnetic behavior using IR, NMR, UV-Vis, GC-Mass, ICP-MS, HPLC, SEM, EDX, and X-ray diffraction.
Biological Investigation
Pharmacological evaluation of synthesized compounds and study of absorption mechanisms to develop safer, more effective therapeutic agents.
